Note: A formula change has occurred since this review was originally posted. The product no longer moisturizes my hair effectively because of this I have not used this product since.

Price: $7
Where to Buy:, Target
Ingredients: deionized water, wheat germ extract, aloe vera…

At the beauty supply store, attempting to locate a few Curls products I came across Taliah Waajid’s Protective Mist Bodifier. Being the product junkie that I am I’d been in search of Kinky Curly’s Knot Today for a few weeks and it seemed that every store was out of stock but this mist caught my eye simply because it resembled Knot Today. But I must say that I am quite happy to have found it!

  • It comes in a spray bottle. You can spray directly onto styles without having to alter your braids or curly style with manipulation or you can spray in your palm as you would with any other moisturizer (See a video about my Braid n’ Curl Maintenance where I used this product as my daily moisturizer).
  • Price. Under $8, it is easily the most effect, yet inexpensive moisturizer that you’ll have the chance at finding locally.
  • Scent. Reminds me of relaxing on the beach after slathering that tanning oil in the brown bottle with the yellow cap. It smells very tropical (coconut-ish scent).
  • Moisture. Moisture. Moisture! – Considering my hair type has more kink that curl, this product actually created more curls than I’d ever experienced with any product even after my hair dried.
  • Soft Hair! My hair felt extremely moisturized and so soft. Softer than any other moisturizer I’d ever previously experienced.

  • Distribution. Taliah Waajid’s products are only sold in certain markets/stores.
  • Coated feeling. Some reviewers on YT complain of a coated feeling, but if you can use Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream, then this mist will not bother you much.
  • Bottle finishes quickly. I became addicted to how super soft my hair felt with this product, so I used it every day, sometimes multiple times a day lol (though it was not necessary).

Overall, I think I am inclined to try another product from her line based on this product alone. Any recommendations?

I see this product line in the BSS all the time but I have quite gotten up the nerve to try anything.

As you can tell, I love it! Just bought my 2nd bottle. I might invest in the gallon 🙂
You should try it!

WOW!!!!! Your hair looks so shiny and healthy. I just got my PJism under control so I'm not (that) tempted. I recently saw some Taliah Waajid products in the BSS in St. Vincent, which I found kind of ironic since the founder of Kinky Curly is from St. Vincent.

I have only tried the Body Mistifier. You are so right about it going fast because of the way it makes your hair feel.

I plan to try the Crinkles and Curls styling lotion. I think it would work great with the mistifier for twists. The C&C would also be good, I think, for rollersetting.

I have tried the Crinkles and Curls to do a braid out and the results were awesome. It did not leave my hair with the crunchy stiff feeling that you get for other styling lotions. Instead my hair was nice and soft and well moisturized. I refreshed my braid out with the Body Mistifier. Love the results that I get from these products. I hope it works well for those of you that want to try it as it did for me!!

I have recently tried the Black Earth shampoo (review coming soon). I may also try the Crinkles and Curls and see what it can do for my Signature Braid n' Curl style.

i have tried the conditioner (its ok for a simple wash or pre-poo, NOT for DC), the crinkle and curls (good for setting curls and twists but not moisturizing), and the mist (good daily moisturizer) HTH!!!

I recently became acquainted with her line(thru my boyfriend…go figure) and I love the spray. The pre cleanser is nice too. Can't remember the exact name but it's green and leaves your scalp nice and tingly. I love that her stuff isn't super expensive either. The more hair the more product and graduate students like me don't have time for all that expensive nonsense. I need something that works and will continue to work. Had to cut that PJ foolishness out…

I live in Atlanta so I have visited her store. I love her products and you are right they are very affordable. I have tried most things from her line and I would recommend them all. shampoo, conditioner, crinkles and curls, body mistifier, and lock it up gel are my faves. Plus I love supporting locally owned small business.

I love this stuff as well. I recently bought the large bottle from her site since I figured I was spending more buying the individual small bottles. I use it as a leave-in, detangler, moisturizer and to help remove my daugther's braids.

I love her gel as well…definitely great products.

I've been using her Curly Curl Creme and it is AWESOME…so now I am going to try the Body Mistifier.
