Peek into My World|My Friend a Natural Bride

in hair styles, peek into my world

I had the honor of participating in the union of a dear friend and her awesome beau this past weekend. Not only was I a bridesmaid, but I was also the resident hairdresser lol. Go Figure. She also happens to be a fellow blogger.

She is a Koils by Nature fan, so those were the only products I used to style her hair. She sat in my chair with freshly washed and blown out hair. That made it super easy for me to braid and curl her hair.  I used 2 products after dampening each section with water and braided with the Soothing Herbal Gel and unbraided with Nourishing Hair and Body Butter.   I must say her hair held up pretty well.  When I got to Tallahassee FL, my own hair swelled due to the humidity. I wasn’t happy about it. I thought the same would have happened to her hair (especially considering the ceremony was held outside), therefore helping to achieve the ‘big hair’ that she desired for her big day.  Unfortunately for her, the curls I styled did not swell as I expected. I had to manipulate her hair a bit and the curls still actually lasted the entire wedding day and the next. That says a lot for these products.  If you live in  a humid environment, you may want to consider a sample pack. I think the gel did the trick!

Big hair or not, she was still beautiful. Check out a few pics from the weekend below.

Why did you use gloves while styling her hair?

westNDNbeauty May 4, 2011 at 12:43 am

Because my nails were done. I'd never used any of the products before and I didn't know what effect they would have on the nail finish and color.

She has a nails blog and requested specific nails colors of the bridesmaids. She planned for the wedding photog to take creative shots of our nails.

So I wore the gloves to protect my nails for that reason.

I too was a natural bride (as you may know)

Your blog is very very attractive. Did you design it yourself?
