In a previous post, I shared that I was considering getting a weave. The time has come! I’ve always admired a member of Long Hair Care Forum, Ediese. For years I considered her the queen of kinky curly weaves lol. She used these weaves as a protective style which helped her to grow her hair to admirable lengths. Cue LexiWithTheCurls and GlamSwagger and their recent and gorgeous kinky curly weave installs.
Though I admire these styles I’ve always been hesitant of venturing into the land of weave because it is so darn expensive! But I’ve decided to suck it up and shell out the bucks!
This is 18″ Mongolian Tight Kinky Curly 3c/4a from Onyc Hair. Immediately out of the baggy, the hair was noticeably lighter than my hair so I decided to dye it a darker color so that it would match my hair a little better.
Following the directions on the package of Dark and Lovely, I colored the wefts. It was pretty easy to do and it took 2 boxes.

Above you will see a portion of the hair which appears somewhat darker than the rest of the hair, that is the test patch I completed before coloring the entire weft.
This pic is jut a reminder of what my current texture looks like (when wet), but of course my hair does not dry like this without the help of products. This pic was taken from my latest regimen post.
