Here is KayJay and her hair, that I have affectionately named BOOM[shika]! Lol #SheIsGonnaKillMeForThat

This is her BEFORE.  She typically wears her hair in twist-outs and has recently hit the milestone of bunning for the first time since her BC. Check out her progress pictures in the Fly Natural Fotki Albums [+]  compilation (see 2nd row/middle picture).

Before braiding she co-washed and DCed with a new luscious conditioner from Koils by Nature. I stretched her hair with heat. I braided/twisted using BASK Beauty’s Palm Tapioca [+].  KayJay reported that her hair was still soft and moisturized almost a week later. Moisture was maintained with additional applications.

This style is beautiful!! I can’t really do cornrows, but am a fan of flat twists. Will need to start experimenting with different styles mixing flat twists and 2 strand twists.

Thanks for sharing.

Very cute! How long did this take to style? I’m notorious for saying I’m going to do small twists, but end up w/ big twists everytime.

This took a good 3-4 hours. KayJay’s hair is really thick and me moving cautiously to ensure I cause no breakage or damage was a major culprit of time.

Thanks for the reply. You did a great job styling it and your patience showed in the end results. I would like this as a protective style for working out(no fuss hair).

Thanks. Finding a braider with a neat hand is definitely a needle in a haystack.
