Virgin Islands Summer Vacay 2012 [part 2]

in peek into my world

This is a pretty dope shot don’t you think?  This is Creed lounging at the condo Sea Shore Allure at Turner Bay in St. John. I will post a few more pics of this spot in a FB album (in case you were ever interested in visiting).

After being on St. John for a few days, we headed over to St. Thomas to hit the beach. I originally wanted to go to my all time favorite beach on St. Thomas, Coki Beach, but I let my uncle convince us to go to Megan’s Bay instead.  Didn’t take many pics there for some reason, but here are a few from our impromptu photoshoot at my aunt’s house in Frenchman’s Reef after the beach.

Here’s a closer shot of my mini-braids. One reason I chose mini braids was to avoid shrinkage, but I now see it is unavoidable. Stretched my braids are grazing BSL.

While on St. Thomas, we had dinner at Havana Blue. I had the fish and wasabi mash. She had skirt steak and some other kind of weird-looking mash lol. Hers was good though. Mine …  :-/

After dinner we boarded the ferry and headed back to St. John. Below is another of my uncles picking a coconut for my aunty to make a coconut tart. Tart is one of the locally popular pastries which has fruit fillings such as pineapple, guava, gooseberry or mango.

Creed, sipping a beer at Maho Bay. Btw, I don’t drink.

An afternoon at Cinnamon Bay. The beach crowd typically dissipates around 4pm. Perfect time for those who love having the beach to themselves.

Check out more pics of the condo, Sea Shore Allure.  My cousin built, designed and owns this property. Interested in staying? Let him know I sent ya!

Do you know the name of this green fruit with white, meaty, grainy insides native to the Caribbean islands?

First off…I love your blog!!!! From a fellow Virgin Islander…that sweet fruit is the sugar apple! Growing up in St. Thomas I was blessed to have several sugar apple trees right in the comfort if our yard. Keep up the good work! Xoxo
