in my hair, product review

Price: $16
Where to Buy: Target (in-store)
Ingredient: De-ionized Water, Aloe Vera Juice, Butryospermum Parkii [+]
Product Claims: Our leave-in conditioning cream feeds and repairs your hair. Shea butter, avocado & coconut oils impart a luxurious feel and delivers shine. Suitable for daily use, natural proteins & humectants soften, strengthen and smooth the hair shaft.

The name of this product initially worried me a bit considering I was using it as a styling/leave-in. Typically any ‘repair’ product is loaded with proteins and destined to make my hair hard, crunchy and not so fluffy.  Fortunately that was not the case — I applied a minimal amount of this thick cream on stretched hair and twisted into approximately 15 twists (one pump per twist).  The very next day I simply untwisted. No butter. No Oil.  This was the result.  At the end of the day the definition remained. No residue. Just soft, pliable hair that smelled like chamomile.

Shea Radiance is a new line of products now carried in Target’s ethnic hair care aisle. Target currently stocks approximately 4 products from the complete line. I appreciate how the packaging eliminates the guessing game; it conveniently states which hair type each product is best suited for. The Nourishing Repair Cream is best for kinky & curly hair (see product photo above). My only concern about this product is the glycerin, but luckily it is not high on the ingredient list.

With that said, Shea Radiance has peaked my interested.  The upcoming colder months ahead has made their Moisture Rich Hair Butter is next on my list!

Ehhh…I don’t know if I’ll be picking this one up. I’ve seen other products give you much better twist outs.

True. I think it might have been my attempt to pull my twists apart (which I never do) which is the reason it looks that way. #EpicFail lol. I’ll stick to my regular twist outs.
