This is the face of someone who has struggled with acne for 15 years. My skin is not perfect now, but it definitely is not what it was 4 years ago (see HERE) and not even 4 weeks ago.

For the last 4 weeks I have been diligently making sure to follow the rules of the Skin Exfoliation Challenge I put into motion. I’m using beta hydroxy and alpha hydroxy acids daily. They are the active ingredients in my cleanser, toner, moisturizer and skin peels/treatments.

So far so good, though discipline is an absolute MUST!  As soon as I started noticing subtle changes in my skin’s brightness, texture and tone, I will say it has become pretty easy to maintain the discipline as I make sure to exfoliate twice a day.

Two weeks left in the challenge! How are things going for you?

Your photos inspire me to continue with my skin routine. I have never suffered from acne but I do suffer from dark scaly patches from my seborrheic dermatitis. I thought a steroid cream was my only relief, but the exfoliation process actually reduces the appearance.

I have struggled with acne since I was around 12, and this challenge sounds great. If you don’t mind my asking, what products do you use specifically, and what’s your regimen?

I’m just running across your post. I have struggled with acne since I was 15 and in my early 30’s I was still having problems. I have found a few things that are worth trying. I drink 8oz of bolthouse green goodness everyday for the past 4 years. I stopped using harsh cleansers and switched to Aubrey Organics Natural Herbal for oily skin, cleanser, astringent and moisturizer. My skin has never felt better. I do like to exfoliate once a week. I use a pot of hot water to steam my face and use Glo skin brightening scrub. Just thought I’d pass this along.
