westNDNbeauty’s November Hair Product Favs!

in my hair

I shared my hair care regimen a couple months ago.  Some assumed I mistakenly failed to include specific products. That was no error. That information was purposely omitted because, frankly  THINGS CHANGE — not often, but they do.  I’ve seen many bloggers/vlogger share monthly favorites, I think I’m going to opt for quarterly favorites for now.

The products listed below have each been consistently used in my regimen for the majority of the last 4 months .  The hair featured in the photos is of a two week old twist out, which that day, went through rainy, cold weather. Though I never got caught in the rain, I never expected the definition to still be evident at the end of the day considering the amount of humidity that was in the air. Every other night I plaited my hair using minimal amounts of the moisturizer and sealers listed below to ensure definition and moisture remains.

Come Clean [+] This is used about once a month to remove product build-up

Deep Conditioner
BASK Beauty Cacao Bark Hair Treat [+]  No matter what, I always, always, always deep condition. This chocolate concoction works well in providing the first layer of moisture in my routine.

Pura Body Natural Murmuru Moisture Milk [+] Works great at replenishing moisture after stretching with heat.  This product also does well for nightly re-braids as it helps to maintain definition of overnight sets.

Pura Body Naturals Cupuacu Butter  [+]  When using this butter, it is imperative that it be used on hair that has been previously moisturized.  A little goes a long way.

Pura Body Naturals Sapote Oil [+] Though this is a weird smelling oil, it’s nice and thick, but not like castor. It doesn’t leave a greasy feel on my hair.  I prefer to use this oil on colder days.

Eden Body Works Jojoba Monoi Oil [+] Adored as much as the oil above, I prefer to use this oil during warmer days.  I also love the warm scent and the fact that one of the three ingredients happens to be tea tree oil which helps with my sometimey itchy scalp.

What products have been your favorite lately?

I didn’t realize you were using the Bask Caoco regularly. That joint is too expensive. I can only use it as a treat. lol

It is, but remember I got a boatload from the hair show and a sale. I was being stingy and trying to preserve them so I recently started using them up.

I have been using Beautiful Textures and my hair is soooo moisturized and its easier to detangle.

My preferred sealant is Castor Oil 🙂

My preferred sealant is my mostly castor oil mix. I mix my castor oil with some EVOO and EVCO and a couple drops of peppermint and eucalyptus oil. Its perfect for my hair.

Can’t wait for my Pura Body Naturals Cupuacu Butter to get here! My preferred sealant as of now is shea butter mixed with a few oils..

Lately I’ve been keeping everything pretty simple so I’m loving my avocado & apricot oil as a sealant.

My preferred sealant is an Argan Oil & Bee Mine Serum oil mix. My hair loves it 🙂

I love to seal with Jamaican Black Castor oil. I’ve used this oil since I big chopped in March. I love that it’s inexpensive and easy to find at any beauty supply store near me.
