Yes, I am serious lol. Honey and nutmeg facial masks have done wonders restore the moisture to my skin for the last week. This mask is done after my weekly lactic acid facial peels. If you have ever done any sort of alpha hydroxy treatment, you know how drying exfoliating agents can be to your skin and how tricky moisturizing can be afterwards.
BENEFITS OF SKINCARE WITH HONEY
Moisturizes skin (No surprise!)
A natural sunscreen which works to protect the skin from pre-mature wrinkling
Helps to heal blemishes with the anti-microbial and antibacterial properties
*These properties are most evident in raw, unprocessed honey — not all honeys are created equal — read Honey May Not Be Honey Anymore
HONEY & NUTMEG FACIAL MASK RECIPE
1 tbsp tropical traditions raw honey
1/2 tsp nutmeg
Directions: Mix and apply to cleansed skin with fingers. Leave-on for at least 20 minutes and then rinse.
Nutmeg serves as a fragrant exfoliator and this mixture is easily rinsed. After, your skin will feel so soft that you’ll probably consider skipping a moisturizing cream. Don’t — err on the side of caution, if not for the youthful benefits of moisturized skin.
