How long have you been natural?
I’ve been natural on and off for about five years. I am been fully naturally for three years. I think it has been the best decision I have ever made.
What made you decide to go natural?
I decided to go natural when I saw how beautiful my curls were after not having a perm for a few months.
What is your current relationship with your hair?
I have a love/hate relationship with my hair. My texture is thick and course, so if I don’t comb it for a few days it becomes matted. I love it because it is versatile, and it is much easier to manage then relaxed hair.
What is the trick or technique you are most thankful for finding out about?
There isn’t much a trick, but I noticed when I apply my leave-in conditioner in the shower my hair is less tangled and more manageable.
While natural, what is the one biggest regret /mistake you made?
I have a scissor obsession, and most of the time I regret cutting so much.
What is the craziest hairstyle or treatment you have done to your hair?
I am very much a plain Jane so I don’t do anything too crazy with my hair.
What specific products can you not live without?
I cannot live without Kinky Curly Knot Today, I just started using it and it has done wonders for hair in merely a week.
What advice would you give to someone considering going natural?
Go for it! There is nothing more beautiful then a woman who appreciates her natural hair. It can be a struggle at first but once you find what works you it will be an amazing experience.
